CHECK OUT OUR 2019 AMBASSADORS!
Meet the Ambassadors
We would like to introduce you to our 2019 Baltimore 10-Miler Ambassadors. We had a ton of applicants but these ten runners stood out above all others!
They are a team of dedicated runners who were brought together to inspire all of our participants to have the best race experience they can.
We couldn't be more excited to have them on our team. We hope you will seek them out as you lead up to race day and follow them to the party!
Meet Ambassador Amy Ebling
Amy was born and raised in Duluth, Minnesota, home of Grandma’s Marathon. In 2007, she volunteered at the finish line handing out medals and was absolutely hooked! She soon signed up for her first marathon, having only ever ran a 5k. She's learned a lot since then, completing 19 full marathons, a handful of 50k’s and 55k’s, and even a 50-miler! She moved to MD in 2015 and was welcomed with open arms to the running community. She loves long distance running, and is working on building back up after having a daughter in January. The Baltimore 10 Miler is her goal race because it’s challenging, but the support along the way is so motivating!
Meet Ambassador Cassandra DeSouza
Originally from Malawi in East & Southern Africa (it's ok to Google it!), Cassandra came to the DMV area after college and settled here. She didn't start running for fun until 2012 when she ran her first half marathon in honor of a friend who was fighting cancer. After her first marathon in 2016, she thought she was done but the friends she made while running has led her across the US and to the World Marathon Majors. She's running the London marathon in April 2019 and has over 25 half marathons under her belt.
Outside of running, she's an avid reader, dancer and beach lover and can't wait to take her B10 towel with her to the beach when she travels!
Meet Ambassador Jocelyn Monahan
Jocelyn started running when she was 6. She was a very active child and here mom would take her to her local track to work some energy off. She competed her first road race when she was 7 and never looked back. A big fan of CSE events, she has run the Baltimore 10 Miler twice and it is by far her favorite Baltimore race! She loves the distance, the challenging hills and the great energy! She is running her fifth marathon in September and is aiming for a BQ! Follow her on Instagram to see her road to the B10 (@jocelynkabob).
Meet Ambassador Kayode Adigun
For most of Kay's life he was a sprinter, but he started distance running after college and it changed his life.
His running journey is firmly rooted in Baltimore where he started jogging to recover from a broken femur. He upped his mileage and soon ran his first marathon, the Baltimore Marathon.
In 2015, a year-round run streak brought him to the November Project Baltimore (NP) where he learned the joys of social running.
His passion for NP, Baltimore and running all feed each other and he's happy to bring all those together in one of his favorite races, the Baltimore 10 Miler.
Meet Ambassador Kelly Martin
Kelly started running 8 years ago in college as a way to stay in shape after a soccer injury left her unable to play. The Baltimore 10 Miler was Kelly’s first long distance race back in 2012.
Since then, Kelly has run countless half marathons and three marathons, and her fourth will be the Baltimore full this fall.
Kelly runs with Charm City Run Annapolis, and they have become her running family. Running is more than just a hobby for her, it is a passion.
Meet Ambassador Lokesh Meena
Lokesh is a trail and ultrarunner who doesn't mind short distance races as well as road running. He has run more than 260 races including the Boston Marathon, Chicago Marathon, and the World Trail Championship 2018 in Spain. He is also the Asian record holder for the men's indoor marathon.
Meet Ambassador Orly Klein
Orly is a physician at Johns Hopkins, and started running in 2005 as a stress reliever from medical school. She has run many races since then, and is currently training for her sixth marathon (in Boston!!).
She tries to run races wherever she travels; it's a great way to explore a new city and to visit parts of the city she otherwise wouldn't go to. This is her fifth year running the Baltimore ten-miler. It is one of her favorite races because it's a great way to see so many parts of the city, the crowds are enthusiastic and hilarious, and there's always great swag!
She also loves collecting race swag, and has several walls in her home full of race medals, bibs, and pictures.
Meet Ambassador Tracy Daily
Tracy is a retired firefighter paramedic turned stay-at-home mom to 2 young sons. She was challenged to run a 5k about 7 years ago by a coworker as a "team building" event. Needless to say, she fell in love with running. Since retirement, she has been able to train and run three Marine Corps marathons. You will also find her running many local races of all distances. She is looking forward to toeing the line for Baltimore 10 Miler and serving as a 2019 Ambassador.
Meet Ambassador Veronica James
Veronica is a realtor and lives on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. She started running in 2010 and has since run a marathon and multiple half marathons, as well as other race distances.
She enjoys being a coach for Girls on the Run and is the social chair for the Eastern Shore Running Club. Veronica is a RRCA Certified Running Coach and is also a pacer for Beast Pacing and the Ocean City Half Marathon.
Meet Ambassador Yvette Thomas

After a 30-year break, she returned to running as a means to lose weight in 2013. She joined the running group Black Girls Run were she met a group of ladies that encouraged her to continue her journey. Since then she has ran the Baltimore 10 Miler every year and is excited to be an ambassador for 2019!
